Not much exciting to say. I installed this in my new Sony VPCCB laptop, and everything is good to go.

I bought it here rather than from Sony, because Sony wanted to charge a ton of money to upgrade the laptop from 4 to 8GB at purchase time. I guess that is one place they make some extra money.

I have used this type of shade before. I didn't like fusing it, it got wrinkled, but what I did do (instead of fusing) that worked very well was to use my surger and surge the long sides and bottom end of fabric to the fuseable material. Then turn up the bottom end wide enough for the slide-in pc., and straight stitched it. I have this type shade on my back door, it has been there for about 6 years and its great. I am in the process of making these for the other windows in the house.

Simple and straightforward, I began using these kits 10 years ago. Still am pleased with the results with my first project, using extra sheet fabric. Inexpensive but doesn't look it.
Hints for use:
Follow directions. Enough said.
Measure carefully. Measure again.
Use a lightweight fabric for best adhesion.
Ensure iron is hot and every area is bonded.
Take your time, the outcome is worth it.
Have fun, be creative with trims for extra pizazz.
Kit is a great value, and definitely worth the effort.

I didn't pay attention to earlier reviews and am paying the price. No instructions, no screws for the brackets.....ridiculous for $40. Don't waste your money.
